Greetings! My name is Dave Karpman. I received my first SLR at age 12, a Pentax H3V. I never really stopped taking pictures. It was a hobby that always fascinated me. Being able to capture the time and place is one of the miracles of the modern age.
I began shooting professionally in 1991, opening up a studio in San Rafael, CA. Family considerations, namely the birth of my first child, meant closing the studio space to devote my time as a stay-at-home Dad. I am currently blessed with three beautiful boys.
My passion for photography never faded, and was piqued with the advent of digital imaging. What a treat it is to see immediate results! This lead to my becoming proficient with digital post processing, and I have been a Photoshop user since Adobe released version 1.0.
I believe the event should never be about the photography. I much prefer to dissolve into the background and capture those special, "candid" moments. I have a great knack for “being invisible” and yet capturing the look, feel, and the "Warm Moments" of being there.
